3rd update

Howdy folks,

We're now in the Abel Tasman area, a great beach national park (good idea!) and yesterday I saw my first whale!! :) Here is a lame photo, in person it's so much more powerful.

Here is a photo of us unpacking the rental car at the campsite where we are at last night & tonight. We finally decided to give ourselves a break & NOT drive anywhere today, just sit on the beach & write postcards. :)
Tomorrow we head to Picton, to get ready for a sea kayaking trip.

Missing everyone! Be sure to post comments here, we get them!

hey you crazy hooneymooners!! your trip looks great! I can't wait to see more pictures - especially of the whales. the one picture of the whale inspires us to rent a video about whales to watch them and learn more about them - they are so magnificent!! life is good for us here - just working lots and getting ready for thanksgiving and the alternative gift market. speaking of which - what would you two like for christmas? yes, I am always planning ahead :)!!

devin says he wants a dolphin for christmas but I told him that they would not be happy at our house in the bathtub and the animal's feelings are more important than his :)!! have a great trip!

Thanks for the great pictures! We are glad for Devin's note to click on them to see the larger view. Those fjords look like Norway! It looks chilly there - hope you are keeping warm. Keep posting; we will share all with our Thanksgiving guests! Love ya both! Marsha and

Al right! Did the whale breech the water at any time? The ones we saw in Alaska never breached, but we saw a fluke or two when they dived. Yup, awsome animals.

Looking forward to seeing all photos at Christmas. Have fun sitting on the beach and sea kayaking.

I thought other folks might enjoy having a Google Maps link to show where you've been.

Once there, you can double-click the map to zoom in, use the mouse to move around, and/or the scroll wheel to zoom in & out. Enjoy!
